    4e is nothing if not streamlined. Also, 4e is no harder to roleplay or storytell than any other system. As for the video... yay for kicking badgers. :)

    4th edition = Epic fail. They turned it from a storytelling game into a pen-and-paper WoW. I play v 3.5 and/or AD&D 1st ed. 3.5 because the rules are simpler and make for faster gameplay, and AD&D because it's better for storytelling.

    They cut the most awesome things out when they go from one edition to the next. I had to go back to AD&D to find a decent flying ship template.

    I'm not one of those edition die-hards that howled and screamed when 3rd and 3.5 appeared but I have to admit that 4th edition is such a far cry from earlier version that people from complex or detailed campaigns will likely never convert. I think they were aiming it at the quick n' easy World of Warcraft crowd. It may generate a new market niche...but I doubt it.

    The default is Lawful Evil. If you read the text for Evil it pretty much says "You follow the laws and manipulate them to get what you want." The difference between good and chaotic good are also small. Very few chaotic good players were willing to do actions that would potentially be more chaotic than good to get to a good end - most conceded on the point of doing what needed to be done for the greater good. Not too much of a loss, really.

    Paizo is coming out with a game based on the 3.5 open game liscense. It's called Pathfinder and there are already products out for it. Hopefully, this will cause other vendors to continue making 3.5 products as well.

    They replaced the gnome with the tiefling because it is too hard to create a ridiculously over-powered character with a gnome. I really tried to give 4e a chance but it really isn't very good. Creating a character feels like you are wearing a straight jacket and being forced to march down these very narrow paths. Do what you want, I'll stick with 3.5 :)

    What sucks? If you like 3.5 you can keep playing it. Just because 4th is out doesn't mean you can't play 3.5 anymore.

    Don't worry about the lack of Barbarians and Druids (though it sucks), cuz they will be released later in Players Handbook II.

    Does anyone else miss the old alignments? Now, Triflings and dragonborns are cool, and I don't think I ever played any game where a person willingly played a gnome. So there are three things that annoy me about fourth, though the new combat is cool. 1. The alignments. (Oh, chaotic good and lawful evil, how will I miss thee!) 2. No Druids. (No class that can transform into animals! Nooooo!) 3. No domains for the clerics. (Nooooooooo!) But otherwise the combat is a lot cleaner.
